ABSTRACT
The use of media that have not been optimal in the
abstract material such as material human digestive system, low reading interest
and lack of ability to visualize the information that has been heard, causing low study results on biology subject of junior
high school students class VIII. Therefore,
it is necessary to develop a color comics media as an alternative media that according to the characteristics and
development of students so that students easily understand the biological
materials. Based on this, has done research and development is aimed to produce
a valid
and practise color comics media in the human digestive system material.
This development research using the four-D models
consisting of stages
define, design, develop and disseminate. However, do not
disseminate stages in this research. Define stages consisted of analysis of curriculum, students and media. Design stage to design a color comic media. Develop stages to produce a valid and practise color comics media which carried out in several stages: validation by 6 validators,
revision of colored comic and practicality test by 40 eighth grade students and 1 teacher at SMP 2 Padang.
To collect the data used questionnaire of validity and practicality. Then, the data were analyzed with descriptive analysis.
The research has been done has produced

junior valid and
practical. Results of the validity test is
3.45 with a valid
category, while the level of practicality by
students and teachers
in a row is 90.63%
and 91.00% with a
category of highly practical.
