ABSTRACT
Research Induction Resistance
on Onion (Allium ascalonicum) using Isolates of indigenus rhizoplant bacteria in
controlling Hawar Leaf Bacteria (HLB) disease by bacteria (Xanthomonas
axonopodis pv.allii) in onion crops was conducted in Laboratory. The
objective of the study was to obtain
isolates of indigenus rhizoplant
bacterial able to control HLB disease and increase growth of onion
plants. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used, consisting of 10
treatments and 4 replications. Treatment was 9 isolates of indigenus rhizoplant
bacteria. Variables measured were the characters of morphology and physiology
covering Gram reaction, production of enzymes pektinase, spore staining,
hypersensitivity reaction test, test-3Acetid hormone Indole Acid (IAA) and
pathogenicity tests. Observation of diseases progression and growth were: the
incubation period, the percentage of infected leaves, the intensity of infected
leaves, the infected tillers, plant height, leaf number, number of tubers,. The
results showed that Isolates TL2RP1.4, TL2RP2.2, JB1RP2 and ULG1RP2 had a
better ability in suppressing HLB attacks. Isolates ULG1RP2, STP1RP3 and TP3RP1.2 were capable to increase the growth
of onion plants.
