ABSTRACT
Learning process in Senior High School
(SMA) is impacted by process in Junior High School (SMP) and Elementary School
(SD). There were internal and external factors which influenced the process.
Government has been applying two learning methods based on of student’s
capability, acceleration and regular program. Acceleration
program is held for students with high intelligent level. The research is to
identify the influence of acceleration program at SD or SMP on the score of its
alumni in SMA. Sample was selected using the pseudo-matched case-control
method. Further analysis with dummy regression was used to identify factors
that influence the test score of student as the indicator of student
achievement. The results show that there was no significant different between
acceleration and regular program. IQ and the way of school selection in fact
contributed significant factors to the test score.
