ABSTRAK
Invitro bioassay on inhibition of
propolis extract of galo-galo (Trigona minangkabau) toward Staphylococcus
epididimis growth has been conducted. Source of propolis extract comes from
Pariaman and Dharmasraya, while S. epidermidis is collection of
microbiology laboratory of FMIPA UNP. S. epidermidis was treated by
various concentration (1.5%,
2.5%, 3.5%, and 4.5%) of both propolis extract, while negative control using
10% penicilin and positive
control using 1.5% Clindomicin. The result showed that propolis extract of T. minangkabau from various
regions have resistibility toward S. epidermidis growth by means of bacterial
free zone around dish paper. Minimum concentration of propolis extract that
could block bacterial growth is 1.5%. There is no diference of both propolis
extract with various concentration toward S. epidermidis growth.
